Asamankese, May 28, GNA - Mr Seth Adjabeng, a teacher was in the classroom at Abodom, near Asamankese, when word reached him that someone was in his room, which he had locked, so he rushed home. On reaching the house, he unlocked the door only to find someone hiding under his bed.

He ordered him out and to his surprise it was a young man he had asked to weed his farm earlier in the day. The man, Michael Larweh was subsequently arraigned at the Asamankese Circuit Court on a three-count charge of unlawful entry, unlawful damage and stealing. He pleaded guilty and was jailed five years in hard labour. Chief Inspector D. E. A.

Botchway said Larweh travelled from Agomanya to Abodom to look for a job and was sheltered in the same house where the teacher lived. The teacher thought he was assisting Larweh by giving him a job on his farm.

But to his sorrow and surprise, Larweh turned out to be a thief. While the teacher was at school, Larweh scaled the wall, entered the ceiling of the room, which caved in and sent him crashing to the ground. Someone in the house peeped through the keyhole on hearing the noise of the crash and saw Larweh in the room.
