Labourer remanded for defiling two girls

An Accra Circuit Court on Friday remanded into Police custody Samuel Ansah Attanu, a 28-year-old Labourer, accused of defiling two girls in an uncompleted house at Bortianor, near Kokrobite in Accra.

Attanu, charged with two counts of defilement has pleaded not guilty. He is to reappear before the Court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku on March 10.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Francis Tarsan who held brief for Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant was the mother of the first victim aged 11 years. The second victim is 12 years old.

According to the prosecutor, both victims are class one pupils.

The accused person who is a labourer carries food from the school caterer during feeding hours to the school.

On February 9, this year, during the school first break, the 11-year-old victim asked the other victim to accompany her to their house at Bortianor.

Whilst the victims were on their way, Attanu lured the two victims into an uncompleted building and proposed to have sex with the victim and promised to give them money.

Prosecution said the two victims agreed and Attanu had sex with them in turns in the uncompleted building and after the act accused gave the victim GHc5.00 to share.

According to the prosecutor, when the 11-year-old victim came to the school she informed her head teacher who also communicated same to her (the victim’s) mother.

On February 16, this year, a complaint was made to the Police and medical forms were issued to the two victims to seek medical care.

The 12-year-old, however, returned her medical form due to financial challenge.

The 11-year-old after seeking medical attention brought her medical form endorsed by a medical officer indicating that she had been defiled.

When the accused person was arrested by the Police he denied the office in his caution statement.
