Mr. Kale appealed to people in the region to stop perennial bush burning, a practice that is causing environmental degradation. Mr. Kale urged Ghanaians not to politicize the demolition of structures that are found on water ways in Accra and some other cities because that would not be in the best interest of the nation. Mrs. Diana Boakye, a Director at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in-charge of Monitoring Information and Training, said disaster risk reduction should be everybody's business. She called on members of the Regional Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation to educate the public and school children on disasters and their prevention and management.
