As Ghana goes to the polls on December 7 to elect a president and Members of Parliament, the Lante Dzan We Mantse, Nii Lante Otanka II, has appealed to Ghanaians and all stakeholders in the electoral process to ensure violence-free elections.

Ghana is making preparations for this year’s election. The Electoral Commission has already complied with a Supreme Court order to delete names of persons who registered onto the electoral roll using National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards as proof of identification. The election management body is also exhibiting the roll for verification of voters.

Speaking during a donation exercise by the mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, and the minister of youth and sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, in preparation for this year’s Homowo festival, Nii Lante Otanka II, who thanked the two for their gesture, appealed to Ghanaians to remain peaceful before, during, and after the elections.
