Ex-Ghana international Laryea Kingston has his eyes on the top job at former club Hearts of Oak after picking up his first coaching badge.

The former winger, who has refused to hang up his boots entirely, was among the latest batch of ex-players including Richard Manu, George Asare and his brother Richard Kingston to receive their Caf License B coaching certificates.

Kingston, 36, spent two seasons with Hearts of Oak, where he became a cult figure. He is relishing the opportunity to use the skills and experiences acquired over the years to help the Phobians, who have lost their spark in recent seasons.

“Last month, I completed my License B course, which means I am ready to start coaching very actively,” he said.

“I want to work my way up gradually to the Premier League level.

“Everyone knows Hearts of Oak is in my heart, so I will be very glad to be given the opportunity to coach or manage them one day.

“Right now, I have a Division Two club I am coaching,” Kingston added.
