Coach Herbert Addo’s burial and ceremonies were unfortunately filled with loads of drama. The disunity between his wife, Mrs. Acquah Addo and his family was glaring throughout the event.
The body of the calm and unassuming coach left his Oyarifa residence amidst protest and chaos over where the body was going to interred.
The usual suspects at any burial ground are the dead person’s wife, children, siblings and close relations but the story was different at coach Addo’s burial.
The body left his premise with well-armed policemen who literally had to fight opposing forces who did not want the body to be buried in Aburi. At the entrance of the Aburi Methodist cemetery were heavily armed policemen performing their duties as expected.
The sight of the armed policemen will make one think that the police were on some swoop assignment or going to arrest a hardened criminal but that was not so. They were there to maintain calm and prevent a repetition of what happened at the Late coach’s residence.
Missing at the funeral grounds were his wife who had earlier on been booed by his family, his five daughters and three brothers.
Rather it was his personal lawyer, the officiating minister for the event, Reverend Crowther Hagan and a handful of people who were present at the cemetery to bury the coach.
