Leader of Kwame Danso police attack arrested

Police in Brong Ahafo region have arrested a ring leader of some residents of Akyeremande who attacked the Kwame Danso Police Station and freed four suspects in custody.

The action by the residents was in protest of the arrest of their colleagues who were detained for assaulting some Sisala indigenes in the area and destroying their properties.

The Kwame Danso Police Commander Chief Inspector Nartey Dandy said investigations have commenced into the incident.

The incident at Kwame Danso is the latest case of attacks on Police stations, following a similar incident at Kwabenya Police station where a Police Officer was shot dead by the perpetrators in the process of freeing suspects in Police custody.

According to Security Analyst Adam Bona, the situation can only change if perpetrators are severely punished before the law courts to deter others.
