Bekwai (Ash), March 15, GNA - The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been urged to remain focused and skillfully avoid pitfalls that are likely to wreck the party's chances of winning back political power. Miss Vera Hall, Asante-Bekwai Constituency Women's Organizer, said they should work hard to carry all members of the party with them to maintain a united front ahead of the 2012 polls.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Asante-Bekwai, she said, the NPP could simply not afford to be distracted or bogged down by petty squabbles and internal wrangling.

"This must be avoided. We must all accept to do what is right for the party. There should be no time to waste." She said the constituency women's wing had already launched a vigorous membership drive to increase the party's votes in the next general elections.

"The goal is not just to retain the parliamentary seat, which we are sure of doing, but to bring the NPP back to power." Miss Hall said they are adopting "door-to-door" political education campaign to help voters to understand the political ideology of the party and win their support.

She said electoral victory demand loyalty, hard work and sacrifice by all members and supporters.

She said she was confident that voter anger over the ruling National Democratic Congress' (NDC) lack of clear vision for putting the nation on the path of real economic progress would work to the advantage of the NPP in election 2012. Miss Hall, however, cautioned against complacency and said: "we have to work for victory." 15 March 10
