Accra, April 25, GNA - Mr Moses Kwame Koesi, Director of My Hands Ar= e Blessed Foundation, a skill development enterprise, on Sunday said learni= ng readiness among the youth was on a decline. He said most young ones were reluctant to learn and or to acquire knowledge and skills for an enhanced life in the future. Mr Koesi was speaking at Mamprobi Global Evangelical Church in Accra= at the graduation ceremony of twenty women, who were trained in baking, cake=
making, batik preparation and screen printing.
The foundation, which was established 11 years ago, has trained abou= t 800 students in various skills. It also offered loans to hardworking students to start their own businesses. Mr Koesi said even though formal education was important for persona= l development, those with little education should not be engulfed with inferiority complex. He called on such people to develop vocation skills and told them th= at with diligence and commitment they would be successful. Mr Koesi said the main objective of the foundation was teaching peop= le how to fish but not how to eat fish. This he explained as helping them to= be self sufficient economically. Mrs Josephine Amenuveve, who was the course prefect, thanked the instructors for their patience and respect with which they impacted the skills to them. 25 April 10
