Leave Politics to us and Concentrate on your Bible - Gen Mosquito tells Pastors

Sun, 9 Sep 2012 Source: Adofo, Rockson

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, alias General Mosquito "ahewene pa nkasa", has ridiculed Ghanaian pastors. In deriding the Ghanaian pastors and their churches, he said, "Now I see Ghanaian pastors and churches doing politics. I thought they were going to stick to their bible to leave politics to us. If they have chosen to do politics, let them carry on"

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah finds it very unreasonable Ghanaian pastors sharing dissenting views on the creation of forty-five additional constituencies by the Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan. He queries why the same pastors kept their silence when NDC in their objection to the Kufuor-led NPP government signing into law the Representation of the People Amendment Act (ROPAA), on Feb. 27, 2006, appealed to them for support. President Kufuor signed into law within thirty-six hours after the bill's passage by Parliament. ROPAL is the law that allows Ghanaians living in the Diaspora to vote abroad in Ghana's presidential elections.

The fact that the pastors did not side with NDC probably thinking ROPAL was in the right direction, does not compulsorily deny them the right to air their views when the NDC or the Electoral Commission are perceived to err. However, according to the illogical understanding of Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah from Seikwa, they are to support the cause of the NDC same as they did to the Kufour government. Short of that, they had better shut up, he thinks.

I wonder why the NDC are always of the "buga buga" attitude to doing things. As corrupt, politically inept, technically naive and socio-economically inexperienced as the NDC are, they always want to have their way in anything. Common sense dictates that time is not on the side of the Electoral Commission to stick to creating additional forty-five contestable constituencies before December 7, 2012 parliamentary and presidential elections. However, the NDC having connived with Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan (Electoral Commission), to enhance their electoral fortunes through the creation of the new constituencies see anyone expressing a contrary view as an archenemy. This is why Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is not taking it kindly to the opposing views expressed by the Ghanaian pastors. There we go again, the NDC intimidation machinery in top gear.

Ghanaians in Diaspora contribute immensely towards the economic emancipation of Ghana through regular remittances home, investments in housing, transportation, small industries and creation of jobs. The NDC still feel these noble Ghanaians must be ostracized when it comes to voting because their avid for democratic dispensation will compel them to vote massively NPP all of the time. With this unfounded fear lurking drearily at the back of their brain, they will always resist the implementation of ROPAL citing their usual "it's not possible", thus, "can't do" attitude.

The NDC are not cut for politics hence their usual "it's not possible" attitude, but mastery in corruption or thievery. Do I continue moaning over spilled milk? No, I should not dwell on the ignorance and lawlessness of the NDC to let precious time or good discussions on Nana Akuffo Addo's policies evade me.

I call on all concerned and discerning Ghanaians worldwide to join me to vote Nana Akuffo-Addo massively on December 7, 2012. We are fed up with the roguish way of doing things by the NDC party and government.

I say, shame on the emaciated Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, an ungrateful human parasite without comparison.

Stay tuned, as I shall discuss Rawlings in relation to the newly formed National Democratic Party (NDP) and his continual flirtation with the NDC. Is he confused, not knowing which direction to go? Rockson will help redirect his steps in line with the proverb, "It does not belong to he who is leading to redirect their steps".
