The subsidiary legislation committee of Parliament has called for the immediate annulment of CI 78 which seeks to give legal backing for the creation of 45 new constituencies.
The CI 78 which is before Parliament is expected to mature on October 3 but the subsidiary legislation committee which worked on the CI 78 says the document is full of inconsistencies hence the call for the annulment.
According to the committee, over 26 electoral areas are not captured in the CI 78 while some non-existent constituencies have been added to the document.
The House is expected to sit on Saturday, September 29 to debate on whether the committee’s report is accepted or rejected.
