Legon Cities FC have declined the signing of defender Empem Dacosta after failing to reach an agreement with Asante Kotoko SC.
The central defender was expected to the Royals in a permanent deal in the just-closed transfer window but the deal failed to materialize.
Dacosta came out publicly to announce his intention to leave the Porcupines Warriors but he will remain at the club before another transfer window opens.
Asante Kotoko communication officer Kennedy Boakye Ansah confirmed the player will remain at the club at least until another transfer window.
"As we all know Legon Cities wrote to us about Dacosta’s service, we discussed everything with them. But they came back and told us they are no longer interested in him. So he will remain at our club," he told Light FM.
Dacosta has fallen behind in the central defense pecking order at Asante Kotoko as coach Maxwell Konadu prefers Abdul Ganiu Ismail, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Wahab Adams and Habib Mohammed.
