Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah says players and members of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) must stop brooding over the 2018 World Cup qualifying disappointment and switch focus to fixing the problems that have engulfed the team.

The Black Stars brought their Russia 2018 World Cup qualification series to a disappointing end on Sunday November 12, playing out a 1-1 home draw with Egypt, who claimed the sole ticket of Group E.

Ghana finished third on the log, two and six points behind second-placed Uganda and the Pharaohs.

Coach Kwesi Appiah has urged the players and the FA to channel their disappointment into finding solutions to problems that prevented them from going to Russia.

According to Kwesi Appiah, the best way to recover from the heartbreak is by building a formidable team that will stand the test of time.

“It disappointing that Ghana of all nations will not be present at the World Cup. I think its something we all need to learn from to make sure that we don’t commit similar mistakes in the future. We need to start well in every competition to make sure that we have our future fulfilled. I can’t point out any mistake because I was not around when we started. But the most important thing is not to dwell on the loss. We need to look at the mistakes we made and urge forward”, Kwesi Appiah said on Metro TV.
