Let's practice the habit of staying home after testing positive - Daniel Ashiaman

Member of Parliament (MP) for Buem in the Oti Region, Daniel Kwesi Ashiaman, urges his fellow Parliamentarians to stay home after testing positive of the deadly novel Coronavirus.

Thus, Coronavirus is not a death warrant or sentence for anyone, I am pleading with my fellow MP’s to adhere to the protocols and stay home or isolate themselves from coming to the parliament house if they have nothing important to do’’ he said.

According to him, it’s possible any member of parliament who has been infected with the disease can easily transfer it to the other fellow parliamentarian, therefore it’s better all those MP’s who are tested positive stay back home for intensive medications.

Speaking with Kwame Tutu on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7, Daniel Ashiaman called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to be mindful of writing names for the compilation of the new voter register, this according to him, in the midst of writing names coronavirus can be contracted very easy among residents.

Adding that "Since COVID-19 symptoms don’t show up early, if the Electoral Commission and his team don’t take care in the midst of registration, many people will end up contracting the disease. He advised the Electoral Commission if possible find a different mechanism for the writing of names or stop it for now until Ghana find solutions to COVID-19."

The novel Coronavirus death count continues to rise with eight more deaths recorded.

There have now been 66 deaths from the virus in Ghana with the total case count rising to 12,590 after 397 new cases.
