Let's trade ideas to develop, says MP-Elect

Accra, Jan 04, GNA - Nii Amasah Namoale, the Member of Parliament-elect for Dadekotopon, has appealed to his constituents to do away with their differences and acrimonies and work together to develop the area.

"If all the parties will understand and share in the beauty of democracy and agree to bury all rancour and come together to trade ideas, the constituency shall be transformed for the good of all." Addressing a get-together on Monday to launch a development fund for the people of La called ''Tunma We Weku Kpee,'' Nii Namoale said with oneness of purpose and willingness to share ideas, a lot could be achieved in a short time.

"As MP-elect, my doors are open for everyone, so let's leave politics behind us and strive towards working together as far as the development of the constituency is concerned.''

"Whether you are a National Democratic Congress, New Patriotic Party or Convention Peoples Party member, you are important and your ideas, vision and plans for the constituency must not be shelved," he said. Nii Namoale appealed to assembly members in the constituency to assist in the development efforts by ''wearing their non-partisan garments'' in the interest of the people.

The MP, who is also the Chairman of the Tunma Weku Association, pledged five million cedis towards the development fund and promised to work assiduously with the leaders to realise their dreams.

Mr John Mensah Annang, Secretary of the Association, said part of the funds raised would be used to build a two-storey structure with 13 residential rooms, a conference hall, and a corpse-laying hall. He called for respect for customs and traditions among the youth of the area.

"If we must develop and develop well then the etiquettes for our rites of passage must be respected and adhered to, most especially by the youth."
