Reverend Father Roland Kpoanu, the Parish Priest of the Christ the King Anglican Church, has called on Christians to let the death and resurrection of Christ stir in them renewed optimism and transformation.

He said Christ, by his resurrection, has brought Christians new hope for the future and through them to the furthest reaches of the world to transform the willing and able alike.

The Parish Priest was delivering the homily to commemorate the resurrection of Christ at the Christ the King Anglican Church in Sakumono, Tema, on Sunday.

Parishioners, many of whom were clad in white apparels and waving their white handkerchiefs intermittently, declared, "Christ is risen, he is risen indeed!" to signify the resurrection of Christ.

Rev. Kpoanu expressed confidence that physical death could no longer grip them with fear, but that with a deeper conviction, through the power of Christ, goodness and grace would indeed ultimately win definitive victory over fear and evil.

He said Christians must not only pray for the healing of relationships, but work fearlessly as a people for the restoration of hope and good relationships with one another and within the wider society.

He indicated that through the power of Jesus, his blood and the power of Christ's resurrection, Christians ought to bring hope and purpose into their lives and the lives of others.

Christ, the King, he proclaimed, was risen and the faith of Christians in Him should be unwavering, saying, "Christ is the propitiation of our sins and he has assured us of his salvation so our faith must lead us to purge ourselves of sins and be repentant".

Meanwhile, speaking at an ecumenical service held on Good Friday by the Sakumono Council of Churches, the Reverend Emmanuel Obeng Ntow, District Minister, Hope Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, noted that through the blood of Christ, Christians had been redeemed and are further assured of the fulness of Christ's annoiting.
