Ho, Sept 21, (Dzokoto) GNA- Alhaji Hamza Danjumah, Volta Regional Imam, has called for an establishment of an institution that would serve as a platform on which Muslims would discuss common issues and find appropriate solutions.

He said such an institution would serve as a meeting place for various groups of Muslims to tackle issues such as education and initiate projects that would improve the lives of their members. Alhaji Danjumah who was delivering a message at the Edil Fitirr Prayers at the Ho Police Park, on Monday complained about the increasing inability of Muslims to pursue formal education thereby exposing many of their youth to vices such as cyber fraud, or sakawa, which the Imam said "is a zongo word".

Alhaji Danjumah expressed regret that many perpetrators of armed robbery had Muslim names. He hoped that Muslims would be more devoted to their religion after fasting and praying for the past 29 or 30 days. Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, announced that Muslim schools were to benefit more from government. He lauded Muslims in the Volta Region for living in complete peace and unity with others who do not share their faith. Mr Amenowode also announced a gift of 200 plastic chairs from the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) and the Ho Municipal Assembly to the Muslim community.

He said Mr. George Nfodjoh, Member of Parliament for Ho-Central had also donated a corn mill to the community.
