The National Teaching Council (NTC) has denied claims that questions for the maiden Teacher Licensure exams got leaked.

There were reports that the controversial exams, which began on Monday, 10 September 2018, was marred by the leakage of questions at some examination centres in the country.

But speaking to Accra-based Citi TV, Coordinator of the licensure examination, Francis Kwesi Addai, said the report is false.

“In every examination, people think that there would be leakage but, as NTC, we have not seen that, so, if it is so, we would look at it later.

“Sometimes, it’s speculation. Somebody can just put some questions online and candidates would think it is a leakage but to NTC we have not experienced that. If it happens, we shall address it,” he stated.

Over 28,000 newly-trained teachers are sitting for the exam.

The exams have been met with stiff resistance from some newly-trained teachers but the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the NTC insist anyone who wants to be hired by the GES after training, must write the exams.

The examination also comes off in spite of a pending case in court seeking to halt the process.

The candidates on Monday, 10 September 2018 wrote Essential Professional Skills paper, followed by Literacy on Tuesday and Numeracy on Wednesday.
