Mpasatia (Ash), June 11, GNA- Master Samuel Atonu, a nine-year-old pupil of the Peace International School at Mpasatia near Nkawie in the Atwima district, was last Thursday struck and killed by lightening in one of the classrooms of the school.
His elder brother and sister, Edward Nsoh, 18, and Gladys Atonu, seven, who were with the deceased at the school, sustained injuries and are on admission at the Nkawie Government Hospital where they are responding to treatment.
Narrating the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the hospital, Master Nsoh said after classes last Thursday, the three of them remained at the school to meet their father, Mr Atonu Nsoh who is the school's watchman.
He said while at the school, it started raining so they went into one of the classrooms and while there, there was a sudden flash of lightening which struck a window and hit his brother who was standing by it, killing him instantly, while he and his sister received injuries. Meanwhile, the body of the late Atonu had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for autopsy.
