Confusion erupted at the Cape Coast North voters registration center as bodyguards believed to be guarding the Cape Coast North New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary Candidate, Horace Ekow Ewusi, fired several gunshots after members of the opposition NDC party prevented some groups of people from registering at the center.

According to the NDC members, they know these people to be residents of Moree in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency, not the Cape Coast North Constituency.

Consequently, they protested and resisted attempts to register the people.

This resulted in a heated misunderstanding between NPP and NDC supporters, and Ekow Ewusi’s alleged bodyguards fired warning shots.

The heated arguments reached a crescendo when the bodyguards seized the mobile phone of the NDC Youth Organizer, Godfred Onso Nyanmeye.

Ekow Ewusi was swiftly moved to his car and sped off after a group of people chased him from the registration center.

Meanwhile, the NDC executives in the Cape Coast North Constituency have condemned the incident.

The Communication Officer for the NDC, Mabel Amoesiwah Eshun, urged the police to arrest both Ekow Ewusi and his bodyguards for concerning confusion.
