Little Flower School establishes Fund for orphans

Tamale, Aug. 1, GNA - Little Flower School Complex, a private school in the Tamale Metropolis, has established an endowment fund to cater for the educational needs of pupils, who have lost their parents to enable them to continue their education.

The Fund known as: 93Long-Term Human Resource Development Foundation for Orphans" (LOTHDEFO), is presently catering for the educational needs of 40 orphans.

Mr Pang Thomas, a teacher of the school made this known at the 16th graduation ceremony of the school in Tamale on Saturday.

Little Flower School Complex was established in 1993 and modeled to handle children from cr=E8che through nursery and kindergarten to basic and primary school. The school has a pupil population of 530 and a teaching staff of 30.

This year's graduation ceremony is the 16th in the series, where 70 pupils have been prepared to enter primary 931" in September 2010.

He said three of the orphans were currently in university, four in Senior High School, seven in Junior High School, 12 in primary and 14 in pre-school.

He said the Fund realized about GH¢350 for this school term, adding that amounts collected were used to cater for the school fees, guidance and counseling and appealed to parents and other philanthropist to assist the school to educate the unfortunate orphans.

Mr Charles Nyabu, School Manager of Little Flower, urged parents to promptly pay their school fees to enable the school pay its teachers in time and to teach effectively.

He appealed to the Parent Teacher Association of the school to assist the school to build a fence wall and a library.
