Loan Defaulters To Face Prosecution

Sumo Ahenkro (B/A), - The manager of Sumo Ahenkro Christian farmers credit union, Mr Adane Brempong, has warned all loan defaulters to pay their debts or face prosecution. Mr Brempong, gave the warning at the third meeting of the executive members of the union at Sumo Ahenkro in the Jaman district yesterday. He said the defaulters are retarding the progress of the union and urged them to repay the loans to enable others to benefit from the facility. Mr Brempong said through the assistance of the union, about 100 members have purchased vehicles while others have put up buildings. He advised the people to join the credit union for their welfar Mr Ebenezer Amponsah, an accountant of the union advised the staff of the union to show dedication in order to win the confidence of customers.

Nkrankwanta Gets 2mC For Electrification Project Nkrankwanta(B/A), - The Kaaseman rural bank has presented a cheque for two million cedis to the people of Nkrankwata towards their electrification project. Mr David King Gbeblewu, area manager of the Bank who presented the cheque, asked the people to use the money solely for the project. Alhaji Kofi Ali, chairman of the electrification project implementation committee, received the cheque. At a meeting with heads of departments in the town, Alhaji Ali, who is also the Abakomahene of Nkrankwanta, said special levies are being paid by the people to finance the project. According to Mr Kwaku Kyei, chairman of projects implementation committee, chiefs are contributing 20,000 cedis each, while the elders are paying 10,000 cedis with men paying 5,000 cedis each an Mr Kyei assured the people that all monies collected would be properly accounted for. Nana Kwabena Asemiah, chief of the town appealed to the citizens to pay their contributions promptly to ensure early completion of the project.

Tamale Rehab centre Appeal For More Funds Tamale, -- Madam Mercy Kazapoe, warden of Tamale rehabilitation centre, has appealed to the government for an increase in the daily foood ration of inmates of the centre in line with the rising She noted that the current feeding cost of 600 cedis a day per head for the 41 inmates at the centre does not rpt not ensure qualitative care. Madam Kazapoe was speaking in Tamale today when the golden souvenir lotto raffle limited donated 20 pieces of student mattresses and five bags of rice to the centre. Cabinet Approves OPEC Loan Accra, - Cabinet approved a 6.550 million-dollar concessionary loan from the OPEC Fund for International Development at its meeting in Accra today. The loan is for the construction of community hospitals in four regions. A statement signed by the secretary to the cabinet, Mr S.K. Danso, said the hospitals will be sited at Bimbilla in the Northern region, Nkwanta in the Volta Region, New Edubiase in Ashanti Regio The statement said the loan also covers the construction of 16 health centres, each with five units of staff housing and supporting vehicles, in eight regions. It said the Northern, Brong Ahafo, Central and Western regions will get two each of the health centres, Greater Accra and Volta regions, three each, and Upper East and Eastern regions, one each. The cabinet recommended for Parliamentary consideration the powers of Attorney Bill which seeks to make new provisions in relation to powers of attorney, and the delegation by trustees of their When enacted, the new Law will replace the Power of Attorney Ordinance 1933 (Cap. 263).
