Loboli in Ho under noise siege by Churches

Ho, May 5, GNA - Residents of Loboli, a suburb of Ho, have complained about the continuous noisy disturbances that Churches in the area generate each night saying they hardly have any sleep. Explaining the situation to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, Mr Marshal Doamekpor, a resident, said the Churches numbering about five around Hotel Stephens in Loboli virtually meet every night holding "noisy" services.

He said residents were subjected to vibrations and blaring of instruments which penetrate into homes at odd hours making it difficult for people to have any rest.

Mr Doamekpor named some of the Churches as God Divine International, Living Spring, Global Evangelical Church, Liberty Church and Harvest Church International.

He said he had made overtures to some of the churches to control their activities but to no avail.

Mr Doamekpor said the Sunday's services could be counted as normal because it was a day set aside for worship, but added that the all-nights and early morning "clatter in pursuit of God's mercies" was a nuisance and must be checked. He said he was disappointed by the inability of the leaders of these churches to show some sensitivity to the plight of the people who lived in the area.
