Judgement debts are no the order of the day, aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Eva Lokko, has said.

According to her, irresponsible management of the country by incompetent leaders has robbed the country of the needed development.

The vice presidential candidate of the Progressive People's Party (PPP) in the 2012 presidential election made the comment at the official launch of her campaign to contest the Klottey Korle parliamentary seat on the ticket of the PPP.

“Incorruptible leadership is lost somewhere in the abyss,” she noted on Wednesday 23 March, as she proposed ways to solve some of the challenges faced by citizens.

She also criticised acts of corruption, which, she said, government had failed to clamp down on, saying the PPP would not countenance such acts should the party win power.

She challenged government not to be jubilant over the reduction in the rate of perceived corruption but should aim at eradicating the practice through which millions of cedis go into individual pockets to the detriment of the country.

“We see overpricing of contracts, which simply means cheating is now the norm. So long as they reduce the percentage of the cheating, we congratulate ourselves that we have reduced the cheating index instead of eliminating it,” she added.

She contends that Ghanaians still lack basic utilities and yet government only embarks on projects to show off that they are doing something in order to retain power.

“We are inundated with show-and-tell projects that ignore the much needed stable electricity supply needed for businesses, hospitals, homes and schools,” Mrs Lokko added.

She, thus, entreated residents to vote for her and the PPP in the upcoming November 7 polls to transform the constituency and the country with relevant policies that will lead to the development and transformation of the country.
