Nasiru Mohammed, a member of the Communication team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is wondering why the numerous appointees under the Akufo-Addo government could not do due diligence as far as the controversial PDS deal was concerned.
He said if these Ministers are being paid to work efficiently, then why did they superintend over a fraudulent deal and subsequently deprive the nation of a whopping $190 million.
“If you have all accepted that something went wrong; is there a mechanism to get those who caused us $190m to get punished? At least a EOCO or Special Prosecutor investigation? No one has made such indications even though the government keeps mentioning fraud in this whole saga," he said.
"A country where we have so many Ministers being paid . . . when asked why, we are told that they are being paid to work efficiently and effectively; yet we have this fraudulent deal. With all these Ministers . . . very soon we will even have a Minister for public toilet,” he added.
He was speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' programme.
