Man grips lottery agent who bolted with his jackpot
A viral video circulating on social media has captured a tense confrontation between a local mechanic and a lottery agent following a disputed GH¢2,800 jackpot win.
The footage, shared by X user Elorm on February 27, 2026, shows a man dressed in green T-shirt—identified as the mechanic—firmly holding another man in a yellow shirt, who is alleged to be the lottery agent who went missing after the draw.
According to the report, the mechanic’s life changed three months ago when he reportedly hit the massive GHc2,800 jackpot.

However, the celebration was short-lived. When the mechanic and his associates went to the agent's shop to validate the ticket, the shop was closed, and the agent was nowhere to be found.
Witnesses claim that when the agent was finally reached by phone at the time, he informed the winner that he was already at the head office to facilitate the collection of the prize money.
Instead, the agent allegedly vanished, remaining unreachable for months.

“The man in green is a mechanic, he won the lottery 28 million. The man in yellow is the lottery agent. When they went to his shop, he was not there. Later, they called him on the phone, and he said he was at the office to collect the money. Three months later, here they are,” the caption accompanying the video stated.
The three-month search ended abruptly this week when the mechanic and his team "bumped into" the agent in public.
The video shows the mechanic gripping the agent’s shirt tightly while wielding a stick, demanding an explanation for the jackpot he never received.
The agent, visibly shaken in his yellow uniform, appeared trapped as a crowd gathered to witness the fallout of the alleged betrayal.
