The Loving Heart International Ministry, a non-denominational Christian evangelistic missionary organization, has organized a two-day free medical crusade and leadership seminar at Bampenase in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Asanti Region of Ghana to propagate the love of Christ and to conduct free medical screening for the people.

The events were attended by thousands of people drawn from 11 communities within the area including chiefs, queen mothers and opinion leaders.

The event was held on the theme, “experiencing the love of Christ,” with the founder of Loving Heart International Ministry, Rev. Dr Nana Achiaa Otu Appiah explaining to the media that her organization is a help ministry as written in 1Corinthians 12:28 and that the crusade formed part of the organization’s mission to declare God’s love and testament of his goodness.

She said: ‘Our aim is to improve and impact lives of the people we meet both spiritually and physically by reaching out to lives in the rural, villages and urban world, through preaching of the Gospel of Grace and the demonstration of the love of God which involves distribution of food, clothing, farm tools, free medical screening with treatment and donation of health aids such as wheelchairs, crutches, commodes, walkers, canes and educational scholarship.”

Rev. Dr Nana Achiaa also intimated that her ministry has been graced with the ability to identify those who are struggling with doubts, fears, unbelief, hopelessness and other spiritual battles. And move in to help those battling with spiritual needs with kind words, an understanding and compassionate demeanour, and the unique ability to speak scriptural truth in convicting and loving fashion.

She revealed that aside the medical crusades; the organization also undertakes periodic prisons ministrations and donations to children homes as well as hospital visitation.

According to her, over 250 souls were won during the crusade and were shared among the local churches in and around Bampenase and expressed her profound gratitude to local organizing committee for the wonderful work done.

The crusade program which was climaxed with a free medical screening undoubtedly revealed the pathetic state of our health care system coupled with the fact that chronic poverty, epidemic of untreated, un-managed, and undiagnosed diseases were some of the problems the people who thronged to the event ground faced.

There were about ninety medical teams selected from the various health centres in the region comprising of fifteen doctors, two pharmacists, sixty nurses and two eye doctors who attended to over 2000 people who were at the free screening and treatment programme most of them were diagnosed with one disease disorder or another.

Medicines worth over USD 150, 000 were dispensed to them free of charge while those with serious medical conditions were referred to the various health centres for further treatment.

The physically challenged persons were given medical aids such as wheelchairs, commodes, crutches, walkers and many more. The beneficiaries were diagnosed for various illnesses including untreated malaria, high blood pressure and eye problems amongst others.

Following the various revelations at the event, Loving Heart International Ministry said, it will embark on a nationwide health crusade to help the poor through medical screening and crusades by sharing the unadulterated word of God to liberate society.

Despite the support the organization received from their partners abroad, the cost involved in carrying such a mission is so huge and therefore, the organization has appealed to Civil Society, NGOs Government, Corporate bodies and Institutions to support its overall objective of spreading the love of Christ and free medical donations to towns and villages across the country.

On his part, the Senior Pastor of Cavalry Life Baptist Church Maryland, USA, Rev. Lord Asante Boadu, who was one of the sponsors of the program, encouraged Christian leaders to modeled the character of Jesus Christ’s servant heart, as Christ-center servant leaders enable those whom they lead to be able to fulfil their potentials in God’s service is the key focus.

He also called on Government to create an enabling environment to form a synergy to ensure that less privileged people have access to healthcare.

“We don’t just want to pray for the people alone but we want to also impact on their lives by providing opportunities like this,” he said.

In a related development, Rev. Lord Asante Boadu together with Loving Heart International Ministry made a donation of items including medicines, electric wheelchairs and books to Edumakase community and the hospital.

Receiving the items, the chiefs who were overwhelmed by the donation, commended Rev Lord and his team for the support and appealed to other citizens of the town living abroad to also come to support the community

Meanwhile, Loving Heart International Ministry has announced a similar exercise to be carried in Sepaase in the Atwima Nwabiagya municipality of the Asante region.

The organization which becomes more prominent in the last five years was founded in the year 2000.
