MP Calls For Investigation Into Bribery Allegation

Accra, - Alhaji Seidu Adamu, Deputy Western Regional Minister, today described as unfortunate allegations of bribery levelled by a member against some mining companies in the Western region. He was reacting to a statement in the house by Mr Joseph Ghansah, Member for Tarkwa/Nsuem, that Teberebe and Ghana Australia mining companies collect between 300,000 cedis and 400,000 cedis bef Alhaji Adamu said for the member not rpt not to have drawn the district assembly's attention to this and raising it in parliament ''is unfortunate''. Mr Ghansah appealed to the management of the mining companies to investigate the allegations and offer jobs to the people of the constituency whose land have been given out as concessions. He commended Tarkwa Goldfields for its contribution to the community by providing a school, other infrastructure, and jobs, and meeting the health needs of the people.
