Nsuta (Ash), July 25, GNA - The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsuta-Kwamang, Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, has donated 150 bags of cement and 13 bundles of roofing sheets in support of the construction of a hostel for Nsutaman Secondary School in the Sekyere West district. They were procured from his share of the Common Fund.
The project, begun a year ago, is being undertaken by the Parent-Teacher-Association (PTA) through the payment of a flat rate of 5,000 cedis per parent every term.
Mr Osei-Prempeh, at a meeting with the association to discuss ways of speeding up work on the project, observed that it is not enough for parents to put their wards in school.
They should also make sacrifices and provide them with inputs and facilities to enhance their academic pursuits. The MP said Nsutaman Secondary School, being the only one serving the three traditional areas of Beposo, Nsuta and Kwamang, needs the contribution of all to make it a first class institution.
He, therefore, called on them to provide communal labour on the project to get it completed on time.
Mr Hartley T. Antwi, Chairman of the PTA, expressed the profound appreciation of the parents to the MP for his interest in the development of the school.
He said that, apart from the hostel, the association has also constructed a 22 million-cedi library for the school and appealed to Non-Governmental Organisations for assistance.
