Mankoadze (C/R), May 13, GNA - The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa West, Mr Francis Kojo Arthur, has appealed to Ghanaians to put aside political affiliations and cooperate with the government to build a strong economy.
He said without unity, peace and hard work, no meaningful development could take place. Mr Arthur made the appeal when addressing the chiefs and people of Mankoadze on Tuesday as part of a working visit to the area. He said the Mills-led government would fairly distribute the national cake, adding that it would reach every corner of the country. He assured that the road from Gomoa Onyaadze Junction to Mankoadze would be tarred before his term of office ends. He urged women in his constituency to form groups to enable them benefit from government credit packages to improve their business. He pledged to fishermen in the area that he would liaise with the District Assembly to ensure frequent supply of pre-mix fuel to them. Accompanying the MP was the newly appointed District Chief Executive, Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, who urged the people to have faith in the government.
Mr Aidoo-Mensah appealed to parents to send their children to school, adding that education is the key to development. 13 May 09
