Mr Bright K. Demordzi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bortianor/NgleshieAmanfro Constituency, has donated 50 bags of cement and 500 Ghana cedis to Top Town Landlords Association to assist in the construction of a police post.
Mr Demordzi said he was touched by the association’s initiative to maintain peace, law and order in the Amanfro Community and offered to assist it to achieve its dream.
“To fulfill my dream, I facilitated the acquiring of a parcel of land from the Chief of NgleshieAmanfro, Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, for the project,” he said.
He, therefore, commended the association for its initiative and pledged to support it to ensure the completion of the project.
Mr Daniel Addo, Chairman of the Association, said Top Town and its environs did not have any police post and armed robbers had been taking advantage of that to harass residents.
He said after several attacks they decided to put up a police post and through the assistance of the MP the chief of Ngleshie Amanfro release a plot of land for the project.
He said the single-storey building project is scheduled to be completed in a year and appealed to other corporate bodies and Non-Governmental Organisations to assist the association to achieve the target.
Mr Addo said policing was a shared responsibility and urged all, including those outside the catchment area to assist.
Top Town Landlords Association was established about two and half years ago to assist in development project in the area.
