Information DAILY GUIDE has gathered indicates that a vehicle belonging to the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Aowin in the Western Region, Mathias Kwame Ntow, was involved in a near-fatal accident over the weekend.

The vehicle, a Nissan Navara Pick-up believed to be the MP’s personal car, had the registration number GM 32 44-13.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that the accident occurred at Dadieso on the Enchi- Suaman road, but the MP was not in the vehicle when it happened.

According to sources, it was the MP’s driver and some activists of the NDC who were in the vehicle when the accident occurred.

All the occupants of the vehicle escaped unhurt, but the vehicle got damaged badly.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver attempted to avoid crashing into another vehicle which veered into his lane, and so the MP’s car swivelled severally and landed in a ditch.

The eyewitnesses alleged that the occupants did not sustain any injury but went to hospital for the necessary check-up.

“The people are okay, they escaped unhurt and we are making sure that the vehicle is removed,” one of the eyewitnesses stated.

DAILY GUIDE called the MP, Mr Ntow, to ascertain the authenticity of the story but he indicated that he was in a meeting.

In a related development, a tipper truck belonging to the Aowin District Assembly was also involved in an accident last Saturday.

Confirming the story in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Augustine Baidoo, Public Relations Officer of the Assembly, said the truck was fully loaded with chippings at the time of the accident.

He noted that the truck was hired by one of the contractors working on one of the projects in the area.

He explained that the truck was sent to Tarkwa to load some chippings and that on reaching Wassa Dunkwa on its way to the Aowin District, one of the front tyres of the truck burst and the truck somersaulted and fell into a nearby ditch.
