MP zones constituency to equally distribute projects

Mrs Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for Tano North, has said she zoned her constituency into five areas to ensure the equitable distribution of development projects.

They are Duayaw-Nkwanta, Bomaa, Yamfo, Susuanso and Tanoso zones.

Mrs Prempeh told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Duayaw-Nkwanta that she had been able to lobby and send development projects to almost all the communities under the zones in her constituency.

She said the people at Duayaw-Nkwanta had benefited from a 20 seater Aqua Privy toilet, while she had donated computers and cement to some institutions in the district.

The beneficiaries include the Duayaw-Nkwanta Traditional Council, District Heath Directorate, District Education Directorate, Ghana National Fire Service, the local Methodist Primary and Junior High School and Boakye Tromo Senior High School.

Others are the Physiotherapy Training School, Serwaa Kesse Senior High School, and the Apostolic Church.

Mrs Prempeh said with the support of Zoom Alliance she funded the evacuation of a 10-year-old refuse dump d at the cost of GH¢ 40,000 at Duayaw-Nkwanta

She said she personally funded the extension of electricity to the new market area, as well as street lights at Koforidua and Susuanso.

She also donated 20 bags of cement to the Agagyamu Community to support a school project, two packets roofing sheets to the Gyaakye Community and a water pump machine to the Duayaw-Nkwanta Prisons, she said.

The people of Campso has also benefited from a lorry station, construction of kitchen and dining hall at Boakye Tromo SHS, sick bay at Serwaa Kesse SHS, while four students at Serwaa Kesse SHS had also benefited from full scholarship, she stated.

At the Bomaa Zone, the MP said she had reshaped the roads at Subonpang, Tanokrom, Dwumakwai, Onwe, Nkwantabisa and Nkurakai.

Other projects included the construction of six unit classroom blocks for the Bomaa Local R/C, donation of two packets of roofing sheets to Bomaa Methodist School, hospital equipment valued at GH¢ 30,000 to Bomaa Health Centre, 1000 bags of cement to Bomaa SHS, and 100 bags of cement to the Dwenase Community.

The Tanokrom Community has also benefited from 20 bags of cement and street lights, while the Subonpan Local Methodist School had also benefited from educational materials such as dual desks, slates, chalk, books, pencils and computers.

The Kwasoagya Community has also received computers, while farmers at Atonso, Kobinakrom, Dwenase, and Asukese had benefited from farm inputs and implements, she said.

According to Mrs Prempeh, she had presented sets of computers to the Bomaa Traditional Council, and extended street lights to Asukese and Dwenase communities.

With her support, the MP said, communities such as Onwe, Nkwantabisa, and Nsuapem would soon be connected to the national electricity grid.
