MTN supports Kwahu Easter celebrations with GH₵45,000.00

Telecommunications giant, MTN has presented a total amount of GH₵45,000.00 and drink hampers to the Kwahu Traditional Council in the Eastern Region to support this year’s Kwahu Easter Festivities.

The donations were done at separate ceremonies at the various divisions of the Kwahu Traditional Council including the Kwahu paramountcy at Abene, The others were at Obomeng and Mpraeso.

The team presented an amount of GH₵45,000.00 and a hamper of drinks to Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong Kwahuhene II, President of the Kwahu Traditional Council.

The Chiefs at Mpreaso and Obomeng also received cash amounts of GH₵10,000.00 each as well as drink hampers.

Mr William Tetteh, Chief Capital Project Officer at MTN, said for the past 17 years, his outfit had supported the Kwahu Easter festivities and was committed to building a stress-free environment for Ghanaians.

Underscoring the essence of the Easter celebrations to the people of Kwahu, Mr. Tetteh said it pleased MTN to improve the lives of its customers.

"MTN’s support towards these celebrations over the past 17 years forms part of our quest to delight customers and make their lives a whole lot brighter. Kwahu Easter Festival is an asset to the Kwahu community and the country," said Mr. Tetteh, adding that as an organization, MTN remains committed to supporting the festival and working with the Kwahu Traditional area.

He reaffirmed the company's relationship with the traditional council and its continued desire to lend its support to the people of Kwahu as they have done in the past years.

He was emphatic that through this support to over 40 Traditional Areas, MTN helps promote development in various communities across the country.

To provide a distinct customer experience during the celebration, the telecommunication giant has set up experience centers at vantage points across the enclave including Obomeng, Mpraeso and Rock City Hotel.

The Chief Capital Project Officer said he hoped to strengthen the Company’s relationship with its customers in the area and help resolve some of the customer issues they have as well as offer an education on Momo fraud.

He expressed his sincerest gratitude to Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong Kwahuhene II, and the chiefs and people of Kwahu Traditional area for their continuous support and loyalty to the MTN Brand.

Mr. Tetteh also praised the efforts of the Kwahu Traditional Council in organizing this festival every year and pledged their continued support for the Kwahu Easter Festival.

Meanwhile, the chiefs, while thanking the telecommunication giants for the gesture appealed for improved network services in some communities within the Kwahu enclave.

Obomenghene, Nana Effah Opinamang III, said, “MTN is the biggest telecommunication company in the country and so I’m confident that whatever challenges they’re encountering would be addressed by their engineers,” said the traditional leader.

Touching on the recent network breakdown that affected Ghana and some African countries, the chief appealed to MTN to ensure that they have backup measures to deal with such emergencies as the network serves as the major medium of business transactions in the country.

He appealed to all visitors to Kwahu during the Easter festivities to be decorous in their activities as they mark the event.
