The Student’s Representative Council of the Methodist University has expressed satisfaction with the Human Rights’ Court directive to the University and the Accreditation Board to allow some students who were dismissed to return to school.
About hundred students were dismissed by the university on the order of the accreditation board for not meeting university entry requirements.
The affected students who challenged the decision in court also prayed the court to allow them return to school while the substantive matter is being looked at.
The SRC President, Patrick Boadu in an interview with XYZ News said the dismissed students applied to the University per its advertised requirements and that the ruling has not come as a surprise to them.
“We have been anticipating this for a very long time looking at the merits and demerits of the case. We are very happy but not surprised with the court ruling because we knew that the students had a case” Mr. Boadu said.
