Members of the machomen for Good and Justice say they are disappointed in the refusal of the Ghana Police Service to involve them in security plans for the December polls.

They had requested to be factored into security activities for the polls but the Police have warned to deal ruthlessly with any machoman who dares foment trouble at polling stations during the December elections.

Regional Police Commander of Greater Accra, DCOP Patrick Timbilla told journalist at a news conference that a regional security task force has been set up to police the elections to ensure nothing untoward happens.

“Nobody should give himself as a machoman to be used to create mayhem; it is not going to be tolerated.

“Nobody should make his mind that he can go and take ballot boxes and runaway" DCOP Timbilla said.

But the secretary of the machomen for Good and Justice, Kwame Otupui Darko says the association will not relent in its efforts to ensure that its members will not be swayed by politicians to foment trouble in December.

“We believe that it is a good course that we are actually pursuing and we will all need support from the standing organizations that have the powers to ensure that every Ghanaian enjoys peace”.
