The Magdalene Burns and Scars Survivors Foundation (MBSSF) today, 15th March, 2018 made donations to the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery And Burns Centre - Korle Bu in Accra.

The donation which included medicines, food supplements, T-shirts, wristbands and cash is the first official project of MBSSF since it's establishment in February this year.

Members of the foundation were given a warm reception by staff of the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery And Burns Unit, Korle Bu; and were taken round the facility to interact with some victims.

The Acting Director of the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery And Burns Unit - Korle Bu, Dr. Kwame Darko expressed gratitude the foundation for their kind gesture. He was full of appreciation to the foundation and encouraged them to continue doing good for humanity.

Founder and CEO of the Magdalene Burns And Scars Survivors Foundation (MBSSF), Miss Magdalene Edet Ekanem expressed so much joy over the success of the donation. She said she was glad she and her team have been able to put smiles on the faces of the victims of burns. She encouraged them to stay strong and be proud of themselves for who they are.

"Being a survivor of burns for about 12 or 13 years has made me understand the pain that comes with it. I just want to encourage them to be strong and be proud of themselves and not allow anyone or anything to make them feel less of themselves or who they really are", she said.

She called on the general public to come to the aid of the victims at the Burns Unit as most of them do not have relatives or funds to discharge them.
