Head Pastor of the Glorious Wave Chapel International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi is predicting that unless a miracle happens, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga will beconvicted and jailed this year (2019), MyNewsGh.com can report.

He did not specify what will lead to the incarceration of the former Minister of Information and Media Relations, and Environment Science and Technology, but he called on Ayariga and his family to pray in order to avert the misfortune that may befall him within the year.

“Yesterday I mentioned Bawku and I was talking about Mahama Ayariga…He should pray or else he will go to jail”, he told his congregation as part of his numerous prophecies on 31st watch night.

It would be recalled that in August last year, MyNewsGh.com reported how Special Prosecutor, Martin A.B.K said his efforts to investigate Mr Mahama Ayariga were being frustrated by some powerful chiefs and opinion leaders. He was being investigated for tax evasion.

Mr Martin Amidu however vowed to pursue the matter to its logical conclusion and subsequently, lodged an official complaint with EOCO to take up the matter.

He said “After undertaking preliminary investigations into the suspected commission of corruption and corruption-related offences including the abuse of public office for private gain by the Honourable Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for the Bawku Central Constituency, my office decided that there were sufficient grounds to invite the suspect for the conduct of full investigations into the allegations.

The preliminary investigations pertained to the importation into Ghana through corrupt means and corruption-related activities of three used white Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles by using a Parliamentary Resolution dated 7th April 2017 contracting a facility of US$22, 500, 000.00 between the Parliamentary Service and the Societe Generale Bank (Ghana) which was for the purchase of one brand new official vehicle for each of the 275 Members of Parliament. Due to the fact that the investigations division of my office was in the process of being set up, I invited the Economic and Organised Crime Office to undertake a joint investigation of the suspected offences with my office, as permitted under our establishment enactments.
