Mahama Expresses Concern About NPP’s All-Inclusive Gov't

The leader of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr. Edward Mahama says his definition of an all-inclusive government is different from the policy President Kuffour is pursuing. He said his initial understanding of the NPP’s all-inclusive initiative was that the government would allow other political parties to appoint people to occupy some positions in government but that has not been so.

Speaking in an interview with JOY FM, the PNC leader regretted that President Kuffour has not given other parties a hand in the appointment of ministers even though he claims to be creating an all-inclusive government. “ I must say that at the beginning, I thought they will contact the various parties to nominate a representative for positions in the government.

The way President Kufuor has handled it is to appoint individuals without consulting the parties. In this regard, the PNC as a party has not been offered any position.” He said PNC members appointed by President Kuffour have not received the endorsement of the party.
