Mahama arrives in Mauritius for 3-day state visit

President John Dramani Mahama yesterday August 23, 2015 left the country to the Republic of Mauritius for a 3 day state visit.

The visit will be an opportunity for the two countries to cement their bond of friendship and conclude trade discussions.The two countries will, after bilateral talks tomorrow, sign a number of Agreements on bilateral cooperation.

This includes an agreement for the development of a 260 million dollar ICT enclave, which will become the technology hub of the sub region and create in excess of five thousand direct jobs.

President Mahama will hold discussions with the President of Mauritius, Dr. (Mrs) Ameenah Gurib-Fakim and Prime Minister, Sir Anerood Jugnauth.

He will also grant audience to the Chief Justice Mr. Kheshoe Parsad Matadeen and the Leader of the Opposition, Paul Raymond Bérenger.

President Mahama will address a business forum on Tuesday and on Wednesday inaugurate a new private university - The African Leadership College – built by a Ghanaian. Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth, will host him at a banquet tomorrow while President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, will host a lunch in his honour on Tuesday.

Accompanying the President is the Minister for Trade and Industry, Ekwow Spio Garbrah, Minister for Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and a Minister of State at the Presidency, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah.
