...Against the Ahwois
Anybody who watched the congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Kumasi Sports Stadium last week must have been struck by the one oddity.
They saw former President Rawlings occupying center stage on the dais wit President John Mahama, his wife and only top party officials.
Significantly missing from the dais were the major background players in the NDC like Ato Ahwoi and Mr. Kofi Totobi Kwakye, arguably the most influential players in the NDC politics today.
The reason for the absence of Mr. Ato Ahwoi and his band of conspirators, who specialize in dreaming up diabolical deals and deeds from the dais was simple; Mr. Jerry John Rawlings had given President Mahama the ultimatum that he would boycott the Kumasi Special Delegates Congress if Ato Ahwoi is allowed anywhere near him.
The above is just the tip of on-going negotiations between the Rawlingses and President Mahama on a possible come-back to the NDC campaign by President Rawlings.
National Review deep throat sources inform us that former President Rawlings is insisting that if he is to come back, his wife must be made the running mate to President Mahama in place of the lifeless and fading Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
Mrs. Rawlings is seen as the most dynamic female politician in Ghana...and her addition to the NDC ticket is expected to give that party a great boost.
Meanwhile, deep throat sources at Kotoka International Airport tell National Review the former first lady has been at the centre of breathing life into the formative NDP party and was recently spotted in one vehicle that was plastered all over with NDP posters.
