President John Mahama turned 57 years today (Sunday November 29, 2015). He was born in 1958, a year after Ghana’s independence.
Mr Mahama is currently in Malta attending a three-day 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
He wrote on his Facebook wall that "very far-reaching" discussions on the theme 'Adding Global Value’ will be had along with impactful side events on Climate Change, as well as a session of the CHOGM Small Group Meeting on Anti-Corruption.
The meeting also discussed Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Peace & Security, Good Governance, Migration and Polio Eradication.
Mr Mahama will join other leaders including the Prime Minister of Malta, Prime Minister of Barbados and the Commonwealth Secretary General to address a press conference today.
From Malta, the President, who is with First Lady Lordina and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hanna Tetteh, will be heading to Paris, France for the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP 21) of the UN Conference on Climate Change.
Meanwhile Mr Mahama has said: "I join other leaders in congratulating Baroness Patricia Scotland, the newly appointed Secretary General Designate of the Commonwealth Secretariat."
