Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the flag bearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP) says he is not happy about comments made by Presidential Staffer, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, to the effect that there is nothing wrong for a political party to recruit its supporters into the security agencies.
Consequently, he has called on President John Mahama to, in the name of good governance, reprimand Nii Lantey, to deter other members of the party from passing similar comments.
Dr. Nduom registered his displeasure on an Accra based radio station.
Nii Lantey is also the Parliamentary Candidate of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Odododiodio Constituency in Accra.
It would be recalled that Mr. Vanderpuye a few days ago told the media in Accra that he secured jobs for some NDC activists into the country’s security services, and insisted there was nothing wrong with that.
“This also falls in line with the creation of jobs for the unemployed”, Mr. vanderpue added.
Dr. Nduom praised Mr. Mahama's UN address on Wednesday but affirmed that it was important “he walk the talk”.
“... If he goes there and says those fine words and his people are saying those grievous words, those combatant words, then what are we doing? We can’t say one thing out there and do something else here in Ghana. Let him come back to Ghana and get his boys and girls in order so that we can have peace and stability in Ghana,” he advised.
