The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central constituency in the Western Region has stated that the president’s initiative of building 200 Community day Secondary schools by December, 2016 is not possible.
Speaking on Atinka FM’s AM Drive Wednesday with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central constituency, George Arthur mentioned that although President Mahama has done many projects, ‘it is not possible to fully implement all policies".
He mentioned that some policies are projections which can be executed all things being equal.
According to George Arthur, the president has started the 200 day projects and Ghanaians are aware and that the government must be applauded since it has managed to build some of the senior high schools with most of them near completion.
He however added that, it will be very difficult for the Mahama led administration to execute the 200 Secondary schools.
He acknowledged that the issue of land in the various communities is a major barrier to the completion of the 200 schools. He added that the acquisition of lands from chiefs in some communities for the projects, has become a major headache for the government.
He added that MPs’ quest for their constituencies to benefit from the project is also a huge problem.
