The National Women’s Organizer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hajia Zaneb Mahama has stated confidently that former president John Dramani Mahama will bounce back as presidential candidate for the umbrella family with a one touch victory in 2020.

The party has been divided with some stating that, they will need a fresh candidate for the 2020 presidential election.

National Organizer Kofi Adams has consistently campaigned for Mr. Mahama who lost to current President Akufo-Addo in the 2016 presidential race.

According to him, the former leader is their best bet for election 2020 but he has been asked to stop campaigning for the former president by a group of NDC supporters.

But speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm with Kwame Tutu, the women’s leader of the largest opposition party insisted that the NDC cannot afford to elect a different candidate aside Mr. John Dramani Mahama.

‘’Former president Mahama will bounce back in 2020 with a one touch victory. Ghanaians have regretted voting him out. Citizens are highly disappointed and are already calling for his return.

Just like Christians call on Jesus Christ to save them, Ghanaians are also calling on former president Mahama to come back and take over the management of this country.

Mr. Mahama will surely return in 2020 with a one touch victory. He will return as our messiah.’’ she said.

She called for calm within the party and admonished individuals to hold their guns instead of dividing the front of the party.

Senior officials of NDC including Yaw Boateng Gyan have posited that the NDC was divided as a party in the run up to the general elections.

A former chair of the party Kwabena Adjei has been quoted saying that he was not surprised that the NPP won.

“I wasn’t surprised [the NDC lost]…because when they [delegates] voted me out in Kumasi they voted the party out.

It was a done deal [that the NPP will win]. I am not superstitious but I came to the party with my own style…and I had a way of relating to the people,’’ he told Accra based Starr FM adding, he was not involved in the campaign and when he tried to get access to the president, he was denied.

But Hajia Zaneb Mahama has rather called for individuals to join their forces and work hard to bring back the party into power in 2020.
