Former President, John Dramani Mahama has lauded the Christian council, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for remaining professional and non-partisan in the dispensation of their duties regardless of which party is in power or which opposition they face.

While criticizing persons who suddenly have turn mute on pertinent issues happening in the country since the assumption of office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he touted the firm values and principles of the leadership of these bodies whom according to him have not condoned evil or violence under any circumstance but have ardently given their stance whenever things are going wrong.

“There are many people who find their voice only when NDC is in power, when things happen they are the first to make a lot of noise, but when NPP is in power, we see the worst atrocities and yet they are quiet, it’s like they’ve developed toothache”.

“I salute the National Catholic Secretariat, Rev Opuni-Frimpong, and the UNDP. They have shown that it doesn't matter who is in power, what is wrong is wrong".

Describing the Ayawaso West Wuogon shooting incidence as President Akufo-Addo’s ‘ All-die be die” philosophy, Mahama said the NDC will not tolerate any form of violence in the 2020 elections and will resist any masked security personnel that would show up at the polling stations.

‘All those people they shot were unarmed and when I talk, they accuse me because I said when they continue what they are doing, we’ll be forced to defend ourselves and now, they are saying I should come and apologize instead of condemning the one who shot the people’.

Mahama, who was preaching peace during his campaign tour at North Tongu asked his party supporters to be on guard, and be ready to defend Ghana’s democratic system.

‘We are for peace but to enjoy peace, you must be vigilant and alert. We must defend our democracy because this is the ‘all-die be die’ philosophy at work and we won’t accept it ‘ Mahama said.

Mahama revealed that the masked security personnel who were clothed in the black and brown apparel and were cruising in the SWAT vehicles parading themselves as national securities are nothing but NPP’s Invisible and Delta forces.

He further said, ‘look at what happened at Ayawaso West Wuogon, what was pitiful was that these were armed people that our Ghana police service say they don’t know and yet, the guys were running rampage and giving orders to our people and our police service could not even control them’.

He said ‘The police is responsible for elections and not Invisible forces and Delta forces during elections and If Akufo-Addo does not put his people in order, then we will be forced to defend ourselves’.

John Mahama has stated that the party will sue NPP and all the injured persons will be given lawyers to justify the case when the police find the perpetrators.

He also urged all party supporters to be calm and not distort the peace Ghana is enjoying adding that, all the constituents to work hand-in-hand to make the party more united and stronger to win the 2020 elections.
