The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),George Opare Addo, has reiterated the commitment of John Dramani Mahama to create jobs for the youth.

Addressing supporters at Nsawam Adoagyiri Zongo during the Eastern regional campaign tour of NDC vice presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, on October 8, Opare Addo outlined key policies such as the 24-hour economy, the National Apprenticeship Programme and the Big Push as some of the job-creation programmes to be implemented by the next NDC government.

He said the Mahama administration would also harness digital solutions to create jobs by training one million Ghanaian youth in coding.

Touching on education, Opare Addo said the next NDC government would absorb the academic fees of all first year students in public universities in 2025.

“It is also not true that, the NDC will cancel free SHS and like we did with the Health Insurance Scheme by moving it from mutual scheme under former President Kufuor to the current National Health Insurance scheme, the free education policy will be enhanced under the guidance of our incoming vice president, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who is an educationist”, he said.

Opare Addo therefore urged the youth to vote NDC in the presidential and parliamentary elections to enable John Mahama reset the country, empower women and create jobs.
