The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) on Monday announced that cocoa purchases of the 2001 and 2002 main crop season would cease at the close of business on Thursday, May 23. A statement signed by Mr Kwame Sarpong, Chief Executive of COCOBOD said returns on the declared purchases would be accepted up to 4pm on Thursday May 30. This is to assist the Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs) to obtain the final returns from their up-country stations, it said.
