The Women Caucus of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 8th Parliament has called on the party's leadership to maintain the Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Patricia Appiagyei, as a leader in the 9th Parliament.
In a video shared on X by GH One TV on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, commended Patricia Appiagyei for her leadership and ability to maintain cohesion in the 8th Parliament.
"Well, she (Patricia Appiagyei) was able to bring the two parties together during this difficult 8th Parliament that we had. We want to keep her to continue the good work that she did. So, Mama Pat is our woman, and she should be chosen as the leader in Parliament," she emphasised.
In February 2024, Patricia Appiagyei assumed the role of Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament after Alexander Afenyo-Markin was promoted from Deputy Majority Leader due to Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu's resignation from the role.
