…As NPP Members Pull Daggers Against Their Candidate

By Cletus Abaare

Credible Reports reaching your authoritative, the Crystal Clear Lens indicate that the Majority Leader in Parliament and the Leader of government, Hon Cletus Avoka Apul is one of the very few parliamentarians who have no problems returning to the House after the December 7 elections are declared.

He is going into the parliamentary elections for mere formality but his seat is much secured and he can be described as the only historical parliamentary candidate who in this political era has no serious contender to give him a run for his money. The report emphatically explained that not only the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bawku West Constituency have executed a lot of mouthwatering projects across the district to woo the hearts of the electorate, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the biggest opposition party in the area is dead and buried.

The demising of the NPP in the area, though the party has never tasted political power in the history of the district started when the former parliamentary candidate of the party in the 2004 and 2008 elections, Mr. Moses Appiah Abaare was lured to take a local chieftaincy title of the Binaba Traditional Area leaving the party in tartars. The Binaba Chief, a former DCE for the district under ex-president Kufuor after acquiring his title has now been woken up by political dews that he was fooled and is currently living in sorrows and regrets.

Since then, the NPP as a political party has been subjected to mockery treatments with people like dishonourable John Ndebugre Akparibo, a former MP for the area under the ticket of the People National Convention (PNC) party and the lost assembly member aspirant for his electoral area,Timonde, joining it and attempting to contest its parliamentary primaries.

Ndebugre Akparibo who went round houses of his campaign managers and retrieved his properties purposely given to them for his campaigns including motorbikes and bicycles after winning the 2004 parliamentary elections received the anger of the people in the constituency not only the NPP members but the total population of the area sent him packing for too much arrogance.

After Ndebugre Akparibo, came another intruder in the NPP who subsequently got an illegal mandate from Akufo-Addo to lead the party in the area towards the December elections, Mr. Frank Fuseini Adongo, a card bearing member of the PNC and a card bearing member of NPP (the time and year he became an NPP member has become a tag-of-war for the electorate). But the dilemma is that he is comfortable when his party men tell him in the face that they will vote skirt and blouse.

In a confidential letter written by the Constituency Executives of the NPP in the area to the National party Executives and intercepted by the scouts of this paper has furthered backed our investigations that Hon Avoka is only going into the election for mere formality. Stay Tune
